What information do you need for an initial quote?

Give the useful facts now, keep unknowns explicit and return to the same enquiry later.

Start with what you need

Describe the product or service, what you want to achieve and how many items or how much work is involved, where relevant. Add a useful location if delivery or attendance matters. The questions should reflect the particular work or product you are asking about.

Required, preferred and optional

Required questions are the information this supplier needs for an initial quote. Preferred answers improve accuracy; optional answers add context. Both can be added later. Installation or timing may be preferred for a supply-only product, while an installation service can need different scope details. The selected offering determines this, not a universal checklist.

An estimate is not a confirmed specification

Use the unit beside each field. If a measurement is approximate, say so in your notes. If you do not know, leave the field blank and save; never enter zero to mean unknown. Explain assumptions and attach useful plans or photographs. A supplier must review its price, exclusions and specification before you commit to an order.

Keep your place

Wait for the “All changes saved” confirmation on your completion page before leaving for longer. Open help in a separate tab, then return to the original enquiry tab. Your completion link belongs to that request; starting a new enquiry creates a different request.

For a different job, start a new enquiry. To continue existing work, find your saved enquiry.
